How far ahead should I book?
Komodo season runs year-round, but March–October is calmer water and more bookings. Three months ahead is sensible for a four-night charter in those months; six months for peak dates (July, August, December). Last-minute availability happens — just ask.
Do I need dive certification?
No for leisure trips. The dive sites around Komodo are spectacular even from the surface; we plan surface intervals so everyone enjoys the trip. Yes for diving — you need at least Open Water (or equivalent) for most dive sites. We offer Open Water on board if you’d like to certify during the trip.
Is the boat suitable for children?
Sea Familia I and II welcome children over a certain age (usually 6+). Cabins, safety gear, and life jackets are sized accordingly; the crew is used to families. Let us know ages when you inquire and we’ll suggest the right vessel.
What’s included in the charter price?
Crew, boat, fuel, meals, drinking water, coffee and tea, snorkel gear, and tender transfers. Not included: flights to Labuan Bajo, hotel before/after the charter, alcoholic drinks (we can stock ahead for you at cost), national park fees, and dive courses.
Can I charter the whole boat?
Yes — that’s the usual way. Private charters get you the captain’s attention to the itinerary, the chef’s attention to the menu, and a trip shaped around your group. The price tables on the Vessels page show per-boat totals.
How do I pay?
A 30% deposit secures the dates (bank transfer in IDR or USD; card on request). The balance is due 30 days before departure. Cancellations follow the policy in the booking confirmation.
